Everton 1 – 0 Manchester United – Player Ratings.

United did not shine and score at all during the English version of Monday Night Football NFL sports betting sites. Nani had a terrible game while Van Persie came on the pitch for the last 20mins.

De Gea – Matt 8, Oli 8

Made a series of sharp saves in the first half to keep Manchester United in the game at half time. He saw the ball bounce off the bar and could do nothing about the goal from such short rang and was untroubled after that.

Valencia – Matt 5.5, Oli 6

Was not at his sharpest going forward and rarely troubled with his crosses. Got on the ball alot but didn’t provide much. Wasn’t massively tested by Everton but often looked uncomfortable, letting Felani past him far too ofthen on occasion.

Vidic – Matt 5 Oli 5.5

Looked out of touch on his return to competitive action with a few missed clearences early on. Most notably completly missing the ball in the air. Allowed Fellani to get the better of him too often.

Carrick – Matt 5 Carrick 6

Looked very comfortsble on the ball as you would expect. His distribution was good but he never really looked like a centre back. was bullied a little by Fellani who found it far too easy to find the ball. Could have done better for ther goal as Fellani was his man.

Evra – Matt 6 Evra 5

Was rarely trouble defensively and looked solid. Provided an option in attack without ever really threatening. Produced a few half chances from crosses.

Nani – Matt 3 Oli 4

Very poor from the outset. Came in very narrow which hampered the attack. He was very wasteful in posession often losing the ball especially with aimless shots. Was rightly replaced on 78 minutes.
Cleverly – Matt 5 Oli 6.5

Saw a lot of the ball. Was industrious with the ball and was part of the reason United dominated possesion. He had a very good 92% pass completion rate while laving the attacking to othr players. Missed a howler near the end of the match which was near unforgaviable. Should have leveled the match.
Scholes – Matt 6 Oli 5

Reliable as always making nearly a hundred passes at a pass completion of 97%. Helped United dominate possesion. Despite making a crucial tackle he looked in danger of being sent off after a series of bad fouls.

Wellbeck – Matt 3 Oli 5.5

Another really poor performance on the wing for Wellbeck. He stood so far infield people could be forgiven for not knowing who the left winger was. The lack of width was a major reason why United struggled to create chances. Got into a few promising positions but failed to get a clean shot away. the team looked better when he was subbed off.
Kagawa – Matt 7 Oli 7

United’s brightest attacking talent. Played several lovely through balls that Welbeck and Rooney failed to convert. He placed the ball on Rooney’s head at the end of the first half but the chance was wasted. He was again unlucky not to register an assist when he played a beautiful lay off to Cleverly in the six yard box only for the youngster to fluff the chance. He was unlucky not to poke home Van Persie’s cross as Howard came out well. a strong debut.
Rooney – Matt 5 Oli 6
Failed to really get involved in the game and should have done better with the chances he had. Mistiming a header just before half time was particualrly costly. Played a few nice one two’s with Kagawa but lacked a cutting edge.

Substitutes

Robin Van Persie – Matt 6 Oli 5.5

Had a rather quiet debut and was often forced to run wide. Played a nice cross in that Kagawa nearly poked home. United fans will hope for more in the future.
Young – Matt 6 Oli 5

Industrious on the wing and got very involved in play without providing many clear cut chances. Was a vast improvement on the wastefull Nani.
Anderson – N/A

Replaced Tom Cleverly but didn’t have enough time to do much. Went close with a desperate shot near the end.

United’s Man of the Match

David De Gea – Average 8

He kept United withing touching distance with a string of first half saves. A strong start to the season for the young spaniard.

United’s Flop of the Match

Nani – Average 3.5

Nani had on of his frustrating games. Too narrow and too wasteful in possesion.
