Los Angeles is first in the nation with blisteringly fast-paced game on tennis-court size fields.
Goals Soccer Center debuts world-class facility with 11 fields, a pavilion with full-service restaurant, locker rooms and more at South Gate Park.
Los Angeles – A $5.5 million, state-of-the-art soccer complex is coming to the United States and will be the first “five-a-side” soccer facility of its kind in the U.S., and scheduled to open in early June in South Gate , CA .
Five-a-side is booming in popularity in Britain, throughout Europe and South America. The game features tennis court-sized fields, and requires around five players on each team. Each field at the Goals Soccer Center in South Gate has rebound walls and netting. The result is a fast-paced, exhilarating form of soccer that anyone can play.
The center in South Gate will have leagues for men, women, kids, and the over-40 crowd.
Built on 3.5 acres, Goals Soccer Center will include 11 flood-lit, artificial turf outdoor fields for year-round play and a pavilion that will feature professionally-styled locker rooms, multi-function suites and restaurant. The fields at the center are the latest iteration in artificial turf technology, and look, play and feel like real grass.
“We are bringing a world-class soccer experience to the community,” said Les Allan, president, Goals Soccer Centers, Inc. “From the locker rooms to the staff to the pristine fields, we are creating an environment that players have never experienced before, and that will have them coming back for more. This will not only be a place to play soccer, but a place to live soccer all year long.”
The 11 fields are each 33 yards x 22 yards and designed for around five players per team, leading to fast-paced action using a regulation size ball and smaller goals. Similar size fields are popular around the globe and some of the world’s greatest soccer athletes that will be playing in South Africa this summer honed their skills playing five-a-side soccer.
“Our mission is to bring unique programming to Goals Soccer Centers to meet the varied needs of the Southern California soccer community,” added Allan. “From the creation of five-a-side leagues to youth tournaments to clinics, and everything in between, players of all skill levels and ages will have a reason to visit our facility and play the game loved around the world.”
