UEFA Champions League
Lionel Messi is one of the best players ever and the Champions League is where he has made a lot of his fame.
To start his campaign he scored a hat-trick in the 4-0 beating of PSV Eindhoven to set his club on the right path after the opening day.
FC Barcelona coach Valverde on Messi:
“He does extraordinary things and makes them routine. The goal in the 75th minute made it easier afterwards. We wanted to correct the mistakes from the Real Sociedad game.
The Champions League has something special about it. We know that the last few years haven’t been the best for us in this competition, but we really want it.’’
No response from the Spurs
For Tottenham things have in quite difficult with a third straight loss for Pochettino’s men. At Inter Milan, the Spurs were leading 1-0 with just 5 minutes to play before they stumbled by letting the Italians score to goals for a final 2-1 result.
They are repeating the same mistakes from the past games conceding goals late in the game.
Coach Pochettino tries to find answers for the current losing streak.
“I think we deserved more. The team played so well, I am happy with their performance and their character but, of course, disappointed with the result.
But of course, we stay positive. It will be tough to play against Barcelona but we need to win, we need to try to give our best, but first of all we have Brighton on Saturday.”
