Fabio Capello has officially had a resignation accepted by the FootballAssociation (FA), after crunch talks with officials from the board regarding the decision to suspend John Terry as captain till the time he is proven innocent.
This was the statement released by the FA on their website this evening, “I would like to stress that during today’s meeting and throughout his time as England Manager, Fabio has conducted himself in an extremely professional manner. We have accepted Fabio’s resignation, agreeing this is the right decision. We would like to thank Fabio for his work with the England team and wish him every success in the future.”
The hunt for the new manager begins, and the front runner is undoubtedly Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp, who is enjoying his best season in management at White Hart Lane. It remains to be seen whether Redknapp does take the role of the national manager, and leave all his efforts at Spurs in vain. Other favorites are understandably Guus Hiddink and Alan Pardew.
