Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) President Mohammed Iya will be paying a three-day visit to Benin on January 27 to mediate in the internal crisis currently rocking the west African nation’s football federation. Mr Mohammed will be accompanied by an official from Fifa, according to reports.

After Fifa’s intervention earlier this month to reinstate the embattled President Anjorin Moucharaf of Benin Football Federation
(Febefoot), the body is yet to function normally after its bank account at BOA, a Cotonou bank, was blocked from withdrawals pending FIFA’s arbitration.

Mr. Moucharaf had been temporarily ousted from office by the police under the instruction of the ministry of sports. The Febefoot headquarters had also been briefly sealed off, but a threat of suspension from Fifa for government meddling saved the businessman’s post, but without putting an end to the crisis.
