Coach Wenger coached last game at home with Arsenal
Arsenal 5-0 Burnley. The story ended well with a proper sent off to the club’s greatest coach. After 22 years in command, Arsene Wenger managed his squad for one last time at the Emirates stadium in front of a sellout crowd.
Arsenal secured the 6th place and will be in Europa League next season after reaching the semifinals this year. The transition will not be easy and Wneger leaves the club with his legacy behind. Merci Arsene, Au revoir Wenger.
Arsene Wenger commented on his last match at the Emirates Stadium:
“We played the game we wanted to play and I would like to thank everybody. Today was absolutely magic. I will never forget a day like that. At the moment, I’m trying not to get emotional at all. It would be far too much!
It’s a great day and a fantastic, magical day because on top of that we had fantastic weather. Everything went well and I will never forget that. You can only be grateful.
What people respect at Arsenal is the way we lead the club with integrity, values and trying to respect the real values of the game. That’s why people respect us.
I wanted to make people happy because I have a certain idea of how football is to be played. My ambition was always to win with style.
When you’re a big club I think you have that responsibility and for the supporters to have a special experience when they come to the club.
That was always my target, and that’s what I mean by making people happy. As I said in my interview, I’m a fan. The fan inside suffers when it doesn’t go well and I’m happy when it goes well.
That will continue. You don’t stop the love story from one day to the next. That will never end.
