Premier League week 8: Watford 2-1 Arsenal
Another away gane and another loss for Arsenal. The team is not recognizable away from home. Today the Gunners only scored for the first time in 4 away games for 3 losses and 1 draw. They have a horrific record this season. Yes the penalty awarded to Watford came at the last minute and could be controversial. Still this is Watford and Arsenal should come there with more attacking intentions and the three points. This team is timid and has no charisma.
At home the team seems untouchable and plays a great football. Away it looks like a club fighting for its survival in the League. Where is the club going? It seems now they can no longer fight with the top clubs and can forget Champions League. This team needs a revolution from top to bottom.
Arsenal Coach Wenger on another disappointing performance:
“It’s unbelievably hard to take because we had the opportunity to win the game. We played very well in the first half and in the second half we dropped our level a little bit. Physically we were not at the same level and on top of that we missed chances to score the second goal.
After that we were punished by a bad refereeing decision. There’s a lot to swallow tonight and a lot to be really disappointed [about]. Having pegged us back, Watford grew in stature and created chances of their own before Tom Cleverley rammed in the winner. [At 1-1 we should] be calmer and not lift the ball so much, play on the ground and focus more on the quality of our game,” said the boss. “I think we became nervous and we lost our composure when it was 1-1.”
