New York Red Bulls striker Macoumba Kandji (picture) revealed after yesterday’s 1-0 defeat to the Seattle Sounders that he is recovering ahead of schedule.

The towering 6-4 forward acknowledged that he should be in full strength in four weeks and should be ready to go when the team reports back from the World Cup break. This bodes well for the team who are still waiting to hear the extent of Salou Ibrahim’s injury and have had problems at striker all season. In addition to his height, Kandji brings a creative element to the team as his pace and creativity allows him to provide opportunities for his teammates.  The team has missed his ability to link with the midfield during its current two-game losing streak as the service to the forwards has been subpar lately.
