RED-AND-WHITE FALL 1-0 TO SOUNDERS, TAKE POSITIVES: Chivas USA dropped a 1-0 result to Seattle Sounders FC in a scrimmage held in Casa Grande, Ariz., on Saturday, but took a number of positives out of the performance, having dominated the first 60 minutes of the match before making wholesale substitutions.

SEVERAL NEW PLAYERS ON TRIAL WITH CHIVAS USA IN ARIZONA: A trio of players has joined the Red-and-White on trial while the team is in Casa Grande, Ariz., for a week, in Colombian defender Jimmy Asprilla, recent Wake Forest graduate goalkeeper Arika Fitzgerald, and midfielder Guillermo ‘Memo’ Torres, recently of Pachuca and the younger brother of United States National Team player Jose Francisco Torres.

CHIVAS USA AND CORONA EXTRA TO UNVEIL 2011 JERSEYS THIS WEDNESDAY: Chivas USA and Corona Extra, the new presenting sponsor of the club, will unveil the new 2011 team jersey at a special event this Wednesday night at the Standard, Downtown LA.

RED-AND-WHITE YOUTH TEAMS ROLL IN OPENERS: The Chivas USA U-18 and U-16 started off the second half of the 2010-2011 Development Academy season in strong fashion this past weekend, each earning a victory over Real So Cal. For the U-18’s, Christian Carillo scored twice in six minutes, both on rebounds, and giving his team a 2-0 win. The U-16’s used an own goal to capture a 1-0 victory.
