National Premier Leagues Finals Kick Off July 14,
National Cup XV Finals on July 22 in Aurora, Colorado
(CHARLESTON, S.C.) – US Club Soccer – a prominent member of the U.S. Soccer Federation and the leading organization developing soccer clubs across America – estimates a $4.2 million direct economic impact at the 2016 National Cup XV Finals and National Premier Leagues (NPL) Finals at Aurora Sports Park in Aurora, Colo.
The 2016 NPL Finals, held July 14-18, will feature U-13 through U-18 boys and girls league champions from around the country, totaling more than 160 teams and 3,000 of America’s top youth players. Hosted July 22-25, the National Cup XV Finals serve as the culminating event of US Club Soccer’s cup-based national championship series, welcoming 120 teams to compete among U-13 through U-17 boys and girls brackets.
As two of the most prestigious youth soccer championships in the country, the NPL Finals and the National Cup XV are the targeted annual destination for teams competing on the national level.
With assistance from the City of Aurora, the estimated $4.2 million economic impact confirms US Club Soccer as host of the two largest youth sports events in the state. By comparison, USA Hockey’s annual Presidents Day Tournament in February generated $1.5 million in direct economic impact for Colorado.
“For the second time in three years, US Club Soccer is returning to the Denver region to host our two National Championships,” says Kevin Payne, US Club Soccer CEO. “Colorado has welcomed us with open arms and Aurora is well equipped in providing the necessary infrastructure for thousands of athletes and their families during these marquee events.”
All National Cup XV and NPL matches will take place at the Aurora Sports Park complex. Located 25 minutes east of Denver, it is a 220-acre site that hosts major local, state and national competitions and offers 23 soccer fields.
Founded in 2001, US Club Soccer boasts member clubs from all 50 states. Last year, the organization launched Players First, a branded, holistic club soccer experience for parents and players, which emphasizes the development of each individual to his or her full potential, and helps parents make better choices about where their children should play. It is focused on five pillars: Club Development, Coaching Development, Player Development, Parent Engagement & Education and Player Health & Safety.
