Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Manchester United
Tottenham stays in pursuit of Leicester to win the title with an easy win against Man United that for another time under Van Gaal ha splayed a poor football and came out flat in London. ManU fans cannot wait for the end of a long and disappointing season while van Gaal must certainly find a new city to settle down..
Tottenham coach Pochettino comments on the win and the title race still alive:
“It was a fantastic performance and full credit to our players for the energy and character they showed.
It was difficult because at the beginning of the day Leicester won. It was difficult from the beginning but in the second half we showed a very good performance and I feel proud of our players. “It was a great moment for the crowd, and for us. A 3-0 win against United is fantastic. It’s been 15 years to feel a win like that against United (at the Lane).
It was fantastic how we played and how the players believed. We need to keep working hard and keep fighting for the next few games.”
Manchester United coach comments on another bad performance:
“We gave the goal away with miscommunication and then you know what happened next. Within five minutes, we were out of the game.”
I think Tottenham is a great team and I have said that also in advance of this match. But, until the first goal, I think we were a good team who were playing good in Tottenham and we also had a big chance for a goal, so you cannot say the way that we have lost… Yes 3-0 is a big negative result but the way that we have played until the first goal was good.”
“Every team can lose to everybody so we are still in the race [ for fourth place] but, of course, when you lose a game you have to close the gap again and that is difficult.”
