The 2018-19 season of the Premier League showed a lot of potential from players who have already made the senior team in the current season. The 2019-20 season of the English Premier League saw some bright and talented players like Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
The pre-season for 2019-20 season and the game for Carabao Cup put some much-needed limelight on youngsters in the Premier League. Here are the top three young players who have shown great potential to be footballing stars in the future:
#1 Gabriel Martinelli
Gabriel Martinelli is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a centre-forward for Arsenal. Arsenal bought Martinelli from the Brazilian league. Initially, the fans overlooked the youngster, and he was an unknown player because of the heavy-weight transfers which happened during the summer transfer window. However, his performance in the little time he got playing for the first team was mind blowing. It thrills the Arsenal fans about having a young talent like Martinelli.
The Brazilian has a natural scoring instinct and is always present in the right position at the right time. He is a poacher and has great finishing ability to match his positioning, looking at EPL fixtures we hope we can catch more of this young talent in the future.
#2 Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for Liverpool. Elliot is only 16 years old, but he displays some amazing skills for his age. He has a great grasp of the game and has quick feet which is a plus point for wingers.
Harvey had faced a 10-game ban because he mocked the England captain Harry Kane but the world forgot his inappropriate behaviour soon after his impeccable skills on the pitch.
Elliott’s performance against Arsenal was impressive, he also bagged an important penalty to get Liverpool a win.
At such a young age, Elliott could be a massive player in the Premier League. He has huge potential and can easily fill in the winger’s role after Salah and Mane.
#3 Mason Greenwood
Mason Greenwood is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Manchester United. At 17, he scored his first goal against Astana in the UEFA Europa League which made him the youngest goal scorer for United in a European competition and maybe he might end up featuring in the Champions league top scorers in a few years!
Greenwood has already seen first team appearances regularly. It is easy to forget that he is only 18 years of age and has his full career in front of him. The English forward has produced some fantastic performances for the England U-21. Greenwood has great weaker foot ability and has a great control over the ball which will allow him to be a unique addition to any team.
