On Tuesday in New Jersey the US national team lost to Costa Rica 1-0. It has been a bad run of results for the Americans after they lost 3-2 in the CONCACAF Cup to Mexico last Saturday.

There were only three starters kept in the team from Saturday. These were Geoff Cameron, Jermaine Jones And Jozy Altidore. They did not last long though as all three were substituted for the second half.

The team included nine players rested for the game on Saturday. These included Fabian Johnson, DaMarcus Beasley, Kyle Beckerman, Matt Besler, Clint Dempsey and Michael Bradley.

The goal that won it for Costa Rica was a great finish by Joel Campbell in the 70th minute. A number of well-regarded sports betting systems had predicted that the Arsenal man would score.

The US men’s team now have a mountain to climb if they are going to get through their World Cup qualifying group. The next round of qualifying games begins in November, giving them one month to regroup.

At the moment, the atmosphere in the camp is not good. It is a dark time for men’s soccer in the US. They finished 4th in the Concacaf Gold Cup, which is their worst performance in the competition since 2000. They are now a team that is in transition and the latest signs show it is going to be a long process.

The player who is regarded by many as the best US player, Fabian Johnson, fell out with Klinsmann, and he was sent home by the boss. The fallout happened after the full back asked if he could be substituted in the 111 minute of extra time against Mexico. It was clear for all to see that he was completely worn out. The goal that Oribe Peralta scored was down to Johnson not tracking back.

It is not the first time Johnson has been an injury at Klinsmann’s training camps. He has on more than one occasion suffered muscle problems after the rigorous training Klinsmann demands. He is not the only player to have suffered an injury. Jermaine Jone, Aron Johannsson and Clint Dempsey have picked up muscle injuries after sessions with the US team. One of the best betting strategies would be to put money on a US player suffering an injury during international breaks.

Johnson is current back with his club, Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany. They have issued a statement saying that the player has suffered a “thigh injury” and is undergoing treatment.

During the World Cup last summer, there were a number of players who suffer tears, pulls and hamstring strains. During the lead-up to the tournament, Landon Donovan said he was too worn out and too old to give 100 percent at training camps by Klinsmann. He was trying to pace himself to be fresh and was later dropped. Anyone who questions the training method of the manager does not last long. Matt Besler is witness to that after questioning them in January and then been exiled for the rest of the year.

There are a number of sports betting systems that are predicting that Klinsmann will be out of a job by the new year. If any defeats happen in the next round of World Cup qualifiers, it will certainly be one of the best betting strategies to use.
