Senda Athletics will provide training equipment to the organization, which works to change the lives of the homeless
San Francisco, CA – 11 January 2012 — Senda is launching a new partnership with the Bay Area Chapter of Street Soccer USA, which will be the third nonprofit to receive Senda Fair Trade soccer equipment, in order to fulfill its mission of changing lives through soccer.
“Partnering with Street Soccer USA is a major stepping stone for Senda. We are honored and pleased to help such a committed organization” commented Santiago Halty, Senda’s CEO, “I feel very strongly about changing the face of homelessness in this country, and hope we can do great things with Street Soccer USA in 2012”.
Rob Cann, National Programs Director at Street Soccer USA, added: “I am really pleased that a company like Senda joined Street Soccer USA’s efforts in eradicating homelessness and I hope this will be the beginning of a long and successful partnership”.
Senda’s founder is to deliver the soccer equipment in person, during one of Street Soccer USA’s meetings in San Francisco the last week of January, and he will participate in their soccer practice. Equipment will include Fair Trade soccer balls, scrimmage vests, bags, captain bands and cones.
Senda is currently partnering with two other organizations: Soccer without Borders in Oakland, andDefensores del Chaco in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Both organizations have an excellent reputation for delivering and measuring impact, and are leaders in the sports for development community.
