Has the demise of the gunners started? With a poor finish to another trophy free season, and the ever present rumors of the departure of super Spaniard Fabregas, what hope do Arsenal have of breaking their 5 year trophy duck?

My worry is not without foundation. Look at former glorious clubs who have slowly declined over the years. Nottingham Forrest. Leeds United. Newcastle United, to name just a few. Maybe I am going over the top, but in 5 years time can we see Arsenal in the same position as Leeds United who are fighting to get in the championship. If we see a mass exodus of top class players this summer, I believe its quite possible.

Next season is certainly not going to be a season full of to much optimism for Gunners fans. In reality a Europa league position in the table could well be a possibility. And who knows where that slippery slope could lead.

  1. As a Manchester United supporter it would not bother me at all if this was the case. But in all honesty, regardless of the loss of Fabregas, Arsenal will still be a team in the top portion of the premier league. Lets not forget this is a team who was a very close third to United and Chelsea this season and I think writing them off at this point in the summer is ill informed. The team of concern should still be Liverpool not the Gunners.
