Day 3 of the 2013-14 Champions League was underway on Tuesday with some great matchups. Here are some of the most oustanding remarks after the game.

Arsenal 1-2 Borussia Dortmund

Arsene Wenger – Arsenal manager: “It was a game of high intensity but very few chances. Dortmund were well organised to stop us from playing, and I must says as well that we were not as good as we can be offensively. Some of our players were not as fresh as they were recently.”

AC Milan 1-1 FC Barcelona

Massimo Allegri – AC Milan coach: “Kaka and Birsa sacrificed themselves a lot and the team has to continue playing compact as they did. The players did well as we conceded little and had good chances. The players did technically well this evening. With performances like this, it’ll be easy to get results.”

Tata Martino – Barcelona coach: “It’s a good point but we deserved more. We only lacked intensity in the first 15 minutes and our punishment was too severe. If we improve collectively, individual performances will also improve.”

Schalke 0-3 Chelsea

Jose Mourinho – Chelsea coach: ‘It’s difficult, normally you go to the goalscorers, and Fernando and Eden played a very good game, but I think everything started with the way we defended. ‘After the first game we were last because we lost at home and now we are top of the group. Because of my experience I was not in hell after the first game and I’m not in heaven after tonight, I’m calm.”

Celtic 2-1 Ajax

Neil Lennon – Celtic Glasgow coach: “We were anxious at times in the first-half. This is Champions League football and Ajax are an excellent side, but as the second half went on we got better and better and thoroughly deserved to win the game. “We could have seen the game out more comfortably for my liking but it´s our 19th game of the season and it was a heroic effort. “We have to get a result in Ajax if we can. It´ll be very difficult, but on tonight´s evidence it´s not beyond us. It´s opened up the group and was a massive win in the context of the group.”
