MLS: Montreal Impact 2-0 DC United

Didier Drogba scored a brace at the early stage of the game (4’, 11’) to maintain Montreal in the playoffs race.

His reaction:

“I thing we did well tonight to ensure that we didn’t allow a goal. It’s true that the forward’s job is to score goals, but the job the guys did behind me to defend, without that scoring goals doesn’t amount to anything. The team continues to progress and entertain the fans.”

Coach Biello also addresses the media: “We had a good performance tonight against another good team. Our confidence will continue to grow, but we still have some work to do as we have a number of important games coming up. I’m proud of the way the guys played tonight. We got the early goal and that makes it easier for us to keep our lines compact. We are now going to Orlando with a lot of confidence.”

The win for Montreal also set a new club record with a six consecutive undefeated game grabbing 4 wins and two draws.
