How Players First is Improving Your and Your Children’s Soccer Experience
Dear US Club Soccer member,
Thanks very much for your continuing support of US Club Soccer, your club and our shared mission to create a wonderful soccer experience for your child. We hope you’re having a great summer!
I wanted to make you aware of recent developments in our groundbreaking Players First initiative, which aims to identify those clubs that have adopted a holistic approach to creating the best possible experience for parents and their kids.
Players First provides support to clubs in five key areas: Club Development, Coaching Development, Player Development, Parent Engagement & Education and Player Health & Safety.
We’ve had a busy summer, with our fourth LaLiga Formation Methodology course concluding recently in Chicago. So far, about 600 coaches have gone through this acclaimed educational program to learn how the best development program in the world trains players to be the best!
We’ve also launched our new Sideline Sports Doc program, along with our enhanced coaching and staff background checks.
Sideline Sports Doc is an online and digital course aimed at helping coaches better recognize the severity of injuries and take the correct steps when they occur.
Beginning July 1, every coach or key staff member who registers with US Club Soccer will now have to pass our best-in-class background check system, which is far more rigorous than the previous youth sports standard. While many youth soccer organizations have tried to cut costs by employing lesser standards for such checks, we believe Player Health & Safety is our first and most important responsibility. To act otherwise would be irresponsible.
More details are available below. I encourage you to visit usclubsoccer.org/playersfirst for even more information about how we are trying to provide the best possible environment for each and every player to achieve his or her goals.
Thanks again for your commitment, and be sure to ask if your child is playing for a Players First Club!
Sincerely,
Kevin Payne
