ryhrhhfhfghI’m Alex Bennett, an illustrator, who has created Football Mishmash. ‘Football Mishmash’ is a massive hand-drawn illustration created from over 450 famous and infamous incidents from the history of football and featuring approximately 3000 individual characters.

‘Football Mishmash’ features everything from Geoff Hurst’s goal in the 1966 World Cup Final to Rene Higuita’s incredible Scorpion Kick for Colombia; the tragedy of the Hillsborough Disaster, to Zinedine Zidane’s notorious headbutt on Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup Final; Sylvester Stallone’s penalty save in the movie Escape to Victory, to a timeline of David Beckham, and perhaps more importantly, his haircuts!

Alex Bennett was born in Watford in 1981 and grew up in Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire. He graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2001 with a degree in Illustration with Animation. He has illustrated three children's books Titch's Haircut (2002), Rory's Roaring Adventure (2006) for Haven Holidays and Soapy Sam (2012) for Handprint Theatre. Alex's talents have been in high demand from top-flight football league clubs who have taken up his initiative to design activity and puzzle pages for their match-day programmes based on the antics of their respective club mascots. Clients include: Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Bury, Huddersfield Town, Leyton Orient, Middlesborough, Millwall, Peterborough United, Southampton, Southend United, Swansea City, Watford, Wigan Athletic and West Ham United. Last season (2012/13) you can view his illustrations in Watford, Swansea City, West Ham United and Burnley's matchday programmes respectively.
