FC Dallas has signed former Atlético Madrid midfielder Peter Luccin.

“Peter came in at the end of the season to be seen by the FC Dallas coaching staff,” said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman. “We were in the final two weeks of training, so he was being measured against a group of players who were very fit. He really impressed us. He can cover a lot of space in central midfield and he seldom loses the ball. His resume is quite outstanding, having played quite a few years in the first divisions in France and Spain. He is going to be a very good addition to our team.”

Luccin, 33, started his career in the youth system of French club AS Cannes before playing 118 matches in the French Ligue 1 between stints with Bordeaux, Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain.

The defensive midfielder transferred into Spain’s La Liga in 2001, where he started a total of 215 matches with Celta de Vigo, Atlético Madrid, Real Zaragoza and Racing Santander.
