FC Dallas acquires Uruguayan forward David Texeira from FC Groningen

He was probably one of the best players in the 2011 U-20 World Cup in Colombia and from there he went to the Netherlands right away. He’s a very talented young man and I don’t believe he has even reached his potential yet. He’s going to be an incredible addition to our roster.”
The 22-year-old forward has been with Eredevisie side FC Groningen since 2011, appearing in 65 matches and scoring 14 goals for the club. He spent the first three seasons of his career with Defensor Sporting in his home country, notching six goals in 22 appearances with the Primera Division club. Texeira also competed in the 2011 U-20 World Cup with the Uruguay U-20 National Team.
