Group A:
Germany is rolling in Group A, after winning 3-0 vs. Turkey and in Kazakhstan during this week’s European Qualifiers. In the second spot Austria grabbed a 4-4 draw at the last minute in Belgium, whereas Turkey surprisingly lost in Azerbaijan 1-0. The Turkish are third after week 4.

Group B:
In Group B, Russia is leading with 9 points after two convincing wins away at Ireland 2-3 and at Macedonia 0-1. Three nations are tied for the second spot Ireland, Armenia and Slovakia: Ireland is two points behind Russia and settled for a draw in Slovakia 1-1 who lost in Armenia 3-1 last weekend. Armenia also won against Andorra 4-0 during today’s action.

Group C:
Group C is much closer with 5 teams within 3 points. Italy is leading with 7points but with one game less, after today’s game vs. Serbia was abandoned due to fan trouble in Genoa (Italy). FIFA will take on this affair and probably sanction Serbia whose supporters misbehaved in Italy. Slovenia is second after winning in Estonia 0-1.

Group D:
The French are leading Group D after two, 2-0 home wins against Romania and Luxembourg. Belarus won 2-0 vs. Albania, and is surprisingly second, only 1 point behind France which Belarus had beaten during the Euro qualifiers opener in Paris two months ago.
