Tour will include friendlies against Ajax Reserve team, FC Volendam, and Almere City FC

HOUSTON, TX (Friday, December 02, 2011) — Houston Dynamo forward Will Bruin and defender Kofi Sarkodie will take part in Major League Soccer’s 2011 Generation adidas trip to The Netherlands, which begins Monday, the team announced today. Bruin and Sarkodie recently completed their first season for the Dynamo and will join a squad of 18 MLS players for the 11-day trip.

The side will be coached by reigning MLS Coach of the Year finalist Peter Vermes of Sporting Kansas City. The trip will include training sessions at AjaxAcademy in Amsterdam as well as friendly matches against Ajax Reserves and Dutch second-division clubs FC Volendam and Almere City FC. Bruin, 22, was drafted by the Dynamo in the first round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft following his junior year at IndianaUniversity. He was named the Dynamo’s Young Player of the Year in 2011 after scoring five goals in 25 matches.

Sarkodie, 20, was drafted by the Dynamo with the seventh overall pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft following three standout seasons at the University of Akron. The rookie defender started seven games for the Dynamo this past season. He also started eight reserve-league games for Houston and contributed one goal and one assist.
