Champions League quarterfinal first leg

Injured for the last few weeks, Cristiano Ronaldo made his return with Juventus and had a direct impact on the game scoring the first goal at the end of the first half. The bookmaker reviews were on par by foreseeing the final result and a goal from the Portuguese superstar.

Ajax Amsterdam’s youngsters fought back and tied the game within seconds after the start of the second half. The game ended on a 1-1 draw. Juventus and Ronaldo would have to finish the job, at home, to move onto the final four.

Coach Juventus, Allegri, on the draw:

“We could have done better. Ajax has important qualities, they bring so many men over the ball and they play well in the passage.

We have stretched less than we should have done over the line of their plants, but our defensive play was very good. However, all four at the back played well, and it was not easy.”

On Ronaldo:

Even tonight he proved to be of another category, not only for the goal, but for his playing time”.
