Heath Pearce, Chivas USA’s defender of the year and MLS All Star, has received a call up to U.S. Men’s National Team by head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Pearce will report to training camp from Jan. 3 through 26 in the United States and Panama. The U.S. will host Venezuela on Jan. 21 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. four days later; the U.S. faces Panama at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.

For Heath, who sums up a total of 33 caps with USMNT, this will be his third call from head coach, Jurgen Klinsmann. “This is a very important opportunity for these players,” said Klinsmann. “They are the next in line behind the established players, and this is a chance to prove themselves.”

Pearce, teammates and staff will report to Phoenix, AZ. on January 3 to begin training. The team will move to U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. to continue training from January 13 through 20, and then return to Arizona and finalize preparations for Venezuela. The annual camp held in January for players in their offseason is a largely domestic-based group that includes 18 players who play their trade in the United States.
