Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to add to his first-team squad at the earliest of opportunities, with the summer transfer window edging closer to a conclusion. The Blues certainly need new additions to their squad, with plenty of players making a summer exit from Stamford Bridge.

The likes of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Ethan Ampadu, N’Gole Kante, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are just some of the players to leave Chelsea ahead of the 2023/24 season. Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, and Angelo have already arrived at the club this summer, but further reinforcements are certainly needed, as the Blues look to improve on a disastrous league campaign last season, where they finished 12th in the top-flight standings.

One player that Chelsea are rumoured to be keen on signing before the end of the summer transfer window is Crystal Palace midfielder, Michael Olise. The 21-year-old only signed for the Eagles back in 2021, but his impressive showings in the last year have seemingly caught the eye for all the right reasons. Olise had previously played for Reading, which is where he made a name for himself in senior football, and he could potentially feel as though he has unfinished business at Chelsea, having previously been part of their academy setup between 2009 and 2015.

Olise chipped in with two goals and 11 assists for Crystal Palace in the 2023/24 season, but is likely to miss the start of the new league campaign, having sustained a hamstring injury for France Under 21’s over the summer, much to the irritancy of the Selhurst Park faithful.

However, it remains to be seen as to whether he’ll remain a Crystal Palace player for much longer, with Chelsea being eager to land his signature, which could result in them activating the midfielder’s release clause. The Blues will need to do all they can to secure this transfer agreement as soon as possible, as it’s well-reported that Manchester City are also keen on signing Olise this summer.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that the club are going to have a fight on their hands to keep Olise at the club, which comes after the departure of Wilfried Zaha, who departed in favour of a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

“We had two outstanding wingers who were among the best in the league. Michael Olise is on the right side, and Wilf is on the left. We don’t have Wilf anymore, and there’s even a slight doubt over Michael’s future because clubs are circling around him, and we’re going to have a fight on our hands to make sure he stays with us.”

It’s been revealed by Bonus Code Bets that Olise is priced at 4/6 on Sky Bet to move to Chelsea this summer. Below, you’ll find the odds for other clubs that are rumoured to be keen on a deal to sign the Crystal Palace winger.
