Bayern München 4-0 Schalke

Post game reactions:

Coach Jupp Heynckes: “Obviously we were aware of results elsewhere today. It wasn’t easy for us in the first 20 minutes against a defensively good Schalke team, but once we’d scored the first goal, I knew our opponents would have to take risks. From then on, we were authoritative and composed. The players I sent out today proved they have desire and enthusiasm for their football. It’s a real pleasure for me to be working with this team at the moment. The players have one major target this season, and it’s the German championship. But we still have to keep working on our game, because there are always things you can make even more perfect.”

Philipp Lahm: “That was a super Saturday for us. Let’s hope it carries on this way. Obviously you’re aware of how your rivals have done, but we’ll keep looking only at ourselves.”

David Alaba: “We all really enjoyed it today, but the important thing was taking the three points. We’re not thinking about the title yet. We have to stay focused and take it one week at a time. We want to win every match.”

Franck Ribéry: “It was superb. It was a huge opportunity, and we’ve made the most of it.”

Dante: “I really enjoyed it. Everyone could see we were totally focused from the off. We knew it was important today. We’ve done what we had to do, but it’s still a long way to the title.”

The team is now well prepared to face Arsenal in Champions League
