Arsenal you can devoid a man of his soul! Just two weeks ago there was talk of four trophies coming to the Emirates. Now that number can only be a maximum of one!
The game started well for the Gunners who were controlling and dictating the play, passing the ball around the pitch with ease and grace. Both teams considerably weaker through injury were playing with some pride for the oldest cup competition in the world. Arsenal looked the more likely to score although without testing van der Sar in the united goal. Then Man united struck Arsenal at their own game with a swift counter attack. Fabio passing with the outside of the foot to his twin brother Rafael who passed back to Fabio then to Rooney who crossed to Hernandez. His header was well saved by Alumunia. The rebound though fell to Fabio who slid the ball home. Arsenal continued to pass the football but created little.
The second half started really well for the Gunners and an equalizer looked likely. However rooney ended Arsenal dreams with a soft header that went off the post and in. The gunners continued to battle but to no avail. Chamakh looked lacklustre and was missing that killer instinct that he had in front of goal at the start of the season. Arshavin looked lazy and Diaby seemed overly defensive. On the other hand Man united did what they do best. Play bad and win the game comfortably!
Arsenal have some serious thinking to do. Would another trophy less season lead to the axe of Wenger. Surely this is not good enough. How long before Gunners fans are calling for Frenchman’s head?
