Recall few years ago when Real Madrid could have signed David De Gea but for a fax machine mishap? The Spanish goaltender ended up signing a new contract with the Red devils obviously because the club was able to convince him of their ambition. Since then, he has really not been linked with a move away from Old Trafford. I am sure this would have crossed the minds of many Arsenal fans when the summer transfer window closed and Sanchez was not sold.
Unfortunately, all hopes of Sanchez signing a new deal seems lost at this stage. Arsenal and Arsene Wenger didn’t do enough in the summer transfer window to show the likes of Ozil and Sanchez they are ambitious and one can’t really blame Sanchez especially if he leaves. He is a winner, he wants to win at all time unfortunately Wenger’s team do not look like a team capable of winning anything meaningful any time soon.
Wenger could have gone all out in the summer to bring in key players that would have convinced the likes of Ozil and Sanchez that he means business but only signed Lacazette for 44 million and Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer whilst selling the likes of Gabriel Paulista, Chamberlain and Gibbs who were key members of the team last season.
I could be wrong but I sincerely think Sanchez will be signing for Manchester City in January or agree a pre-contract with them ahead of a free transfer move in the summer. A look at the odds via the sports betting app from Cherry Rush will show you Manchester City are more likely to sign Sanchez any time soon. And it appears Arsenal are already preparing for his departure. This is as The SUN is reporting Arsenal is eyeing a move for AC Milan’s Andre Silva.
With AC Milan currently 10th on the serie A table having won four and lost four of their first eight matches, there is a real chance they won’t be playing in the Champions league next season which Arsenal reportedly hope will be something to tempt the Portuguese with should the Gunners manage to get back into the top four.
Signed for £33m from Porto last summer, Andre Silva is a very versatile player in that he can play as a 10 and on both flanks. However, if you ask me, I think Arsenal should be aiming for someone better as a replacement for Sanchez. No disrespect to Silva but he is certainly not in the class of the likes of Lemar, Draxler and Mahrez and those are the names I believe Wenger should be targeting as replacement for Sanchez should the Chilean finally leave – inevitably.
