AC Milan will meet Brazilian power Cruzeiro at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, August 4. The internationally-renowned clubs will meet in the first game of a special soccer doubleheader that will see the previously-scheduled match between the host New England Revolution and Sporting Kansas City in the second game.

Kickoff for the AC Milan-Cruzeiro match is set for 4:30 p.m., while the Revs will host Sporting at 7:30 p.m., as previously scheduled.

Tickets for the special doubleheader start at $45 ($35 for group tickets) and will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 29. For Revolution Season Ticket Holders, this match will be a double-coupon event and the Milan-Cruzeiro match will serve as the special soccer event included in their season ticket packages. Season Ticket Holders will use only the ticket for the Sporting Kansas City match (ticket number 11) on game day to access their seats.

Revolution Season Ticket Holders will have access to additional tickets through a pre-sale that begins on Monday, June 25, at 10 a.m. Revolution multi-game (Four-Pack and Six-Pack) holders will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the match beginning Wednesday, June 27, at 10 a.m.

On August 4, the Gillette Stadium gates will open at 2:30 p.m., after parking lots will open at 12:30 p.m. Gillette Stadium parking charges will apply, however Revolution Season Ticket Holders will be able to use their season parking passes.

AC Milan, founded in 1899, is one of the world’s most successful soccer teams with 18 World (FIFA) and European (UEFA) titles combined, a worldwide record. Milan has won Serie A 18 times with its last title coming two years ago in 2011, preceding a runner-up finish this past year. The club has also won seven UEFA Champions League titles and one FIFA Club World Cup.

Last year, Milan advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2011-12 UEFA Champions League with a roster of stars, including captain Massimo Ambrosini, Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Brazil’s Alexandre Pato, Robinho and Thiago Silva.

Cruzeiro, founded in 1921, is one of the most popular teams in Brazil. Playing in the Campeonato Mineiro, Cruziero has won 37 championships, including the 2008, 2009 and 2011 titles. The club has also won two Copa Libertadores titles, two Supercopa Sudamericana titles, one Recopa Sudamericana championship, one Copa Oro and one Supercopa Masters.

Cruzeiro, which is acclaimed for its player development system, boasts a current roster that features such Brazilian stars as long-time goalkeeper Fabio and Argentine playmaker Walter Mondillo.
