Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Inter Milan

AVB reactions:

Inter didn’t trouble us too much – 57 per cent possession and 17-7 shots in our favour tells that story – but they did create a golden opportunity in each half as Ricardo Alvarez fired wide and then Brad Friedel made a point-blank save from Rodrigo Palacio.

However, it was our night as we built a commanding lead to take to the San Siro for the second leg next Thursday, March 14.

“It was a great European night and a great win for the lads,” said Andre.

“After we beat Lyon there was a buzz in the dressing room to play an opponent of this dimension and we managed to have a great performance.

“The players pressed hard and caused Inter lots of problems. We had some good chances and could have made it 2-0 even earlier.

“We played some excellent attacking football and tried to limit their chances.

“The tie hasn’t finished yet. We still have to go there, a difficult stadium with all their experience and everything can still change. It’s a difficult place to go so we have to make sure we are competent and book our place in the last eight.”
