Southern-California based Slammers FC teams are no strangers to the San Diego Polo Fields, home base for the prestigious Surf Cup invitational held in the bucolic San Dieguito River Valley just inland from the Del Mar Race Track.

During each of the last two years, the Slammers have taken five teams to the tournament and have emerged with three championships and one semifinalist in the 2009 Cup, and two finalists and one semi-finalist in the 2010 Cup.  The Slammers’ record of Surf Cup achievement—57 championships–is unmatched by any other club.  This broad spectrum of participation gives the Slammer players advantageous showcase exposure to college coaches who attend (over 100 in 2010) the Surf Cup.

The club’s luster was honed to a brilliant polish by the Boys U-16 Premier capture of the 2010 USYSA National Championship in July at Overland Park, Kansas and number one national, state and regional ranking by GotSoccer.com.

In other venues, Slammer teams have compiled impressive records over the years. Recent highlights included the GU17/18 team back-to-back championships in the 2009 and 2010 California North-South Premier Playoffs and first place finish in 2010 CSL league play. The BU17 were finalists in the state tourney and finished second in CSL league play. Here is a synopsis of these and other Slammer FC achievements:
