Chester, Pa. (October 27, 2011) – Philadelphia Union are celebrating their first ever MLS Cup playoff run with their “Doopin’ To the Cup” promotion.  The campaign features various events and contests during the Eastern Conference Semifinal series, which begins this Sunday, October 30th at 5:00 p.m. EST against the Houston Dynamo on ESPN2.   Limited tickets for Sunday’s game still remain and can be purchased by visiting www.philadelphiaunion.com or by calling ComcastTix at 1-800-298-4200.

The Commodore Barry Bridge and its toll booth collectors will be helping cheer on the Union this weekend, as the collectors will be wearing Union playoff t-shirts, while the bridge will be draped in “Go Union” banners.  There will also be “Doopin’ to the Cup” banners located throughout PPL Park, as well as a special MLS Playoffs field logo.

The Union kicked off the week with a “Doop of the Day” campaign, which features an important goal and scoring celebrations from the Union’s 2011 regular season.  The club also encouraged fans to “Show Us Your Playoff Pride” by posting photos and comments on Facebook detailing what the Union means to them.  The photo and comment with the most likes will win special pre-game field access during the warm-ups of Sunday’s game and a pair of cleats autographed by Zach Pfeffer, respectively.

On Friday, October 28th, the Union will be hosting a special “Doopin’ to the Cup” party at Fado Irish Pub and Tir Na Nog in Center City Philadelphia from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  Union players Freddy Adu, Gabriel Farfan, Carlos Valdes and Danny Mwanga will pump up the crowds, as well as help give away special Union prizes.

Harrah’s Chester is encouraging fans to continue the party postgame on Sunday, as the casino will be throwing a special Post-Game Party, featuring Union players Justin Mapp and Michael Farfan.

The fun doesn’t end on Sunday night, however, as the Union travel to Houston for the second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinal round on Thursday, November 3rd at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN2.  Various viewing parties will be taking place at pub partners throughout the area from 8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
