Football has evolved a lot since the start of the 19th century. By using data from over one million football matches, gathered by online community FootballFans.eu, we can see that the average amount of goals scored per game since 1901 is 2.77. Yet there is more to see than that. The most common result is 1-1, the rate of scoring has declined over the years and if you want to see goals, Liechtenstein is the place to go (4.85 goals per game), while Morocco is to be avoided (1.78).

Estadio Santiago Bernabéu is the major ground where can you see the most goals!

All the information has been collated and analysed, in English, on Sargasso.nl.
