Yesterday’s first leg clash of Man United vs Bayern, saw the visitors watch a golden chance to return to Old Trafford with three points slip away  during the dying minutes of the Champions League match up.  Arguably the hottest goal scorer on planet earth Wayne Rooney,  put the Red Devils on top in the second minute of the match.   It wasn’t until the 76th minute that Frenchman, Franck Ribery, leveled the score for Bayern. Ivica Olic put Bayern ahead for good in the 90th minute, on a defensive blunder by Man U’s backline.  Sir Alex Fergusan said of the match, “We didn’t play well enough to be honest,” he told Sky Sports. “We kept giving the ball away. We caused our own defeat.”Bayern were the better team. We can’t complain about that, but we’re better than that in possession. We kept giving it away and that was our downfall.”The first goal was a bit of luck with a deflection but the last goal, I don’t know how you describe it. The game was done and we gave a terrible goal away.”

To add insult to injury, Manchester’s Rooney, received the news that he may be sidelined for 2-4 weeks after sustaining a sprained ankle  in the final moments of yesterday’s match.
