Former Egypt international striker Ahmed Hossam Mido has left Ajax Amsterdam to join Egyptian giants Zamalek SC – where the 27-year-old player kicked off his professional career more than a decade ago – Rtbf said on Sunday.


After a rich career experience which saw him play at a dozen top clubs in France, England and beyond – including Marseille, Roma, Tottenham Hotspur, Middlesbrough, West Ham – the 2001 Belgian Ebony Shoe winner says he’s bringing his time in football to a close at his cradle club.

He signed a three-year deal with the white side, hoping to reconnect with old and new fans of the of the Egyptian Premier League’s 11-time winners.
