Live sports streaming apps have re-defined the way fans consume football. Rather than planting themselves on a couch, fans can conveniently tune into their favourite leagues via iOS, Android and Windows Phone on an anytime, anywhere basis. These apps also serve as essential tools for sports bettors seeking to follow their wagers live, place in-play bets, or conduct research on specific teams. Bookmakers have also been quick to get in on the game and are rapidly expanding their range of live streaming options customers. With a growing amount of apps to choose from, here are five standout options for live streaming football.

NBC Sports

NBC airs thousands of sporting events annually, and many of these spill over to its impressive mobile app. Compatible with anything from an iPhone and iPad to a Samsung Galaxy and Windows Phone, the NBC Sports app is loaded with live and archived football video, including streams of English Premier League matches. Full replays of each EPL match are available, as are individual match highlights. The app offers exclusive features such as alternate camera angles and synchronized stats, while push notifications can be set up to remind viewers of upcoming fixtures. Other sports live streamed through NBC Sports include NFL, NHL, PGA Tour golf, NASCAR, Formula 1, French Open tennis, Indy Car and horse racing.

Bet365

Mobile sportsbooks have a distinct advantage in the live streaming space over television networks. And when it comes to variety in live football streaming, few bookmakers can rival Bet365’s offering. Outside of the English Premier League, all of the world’s premier football competitions are streamed on Bet365’s mobile app, including Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A  and French Ligue 1. There are also world-renowned intercontinental club competitions such as Champions League qualifying, Europa League and Copa Libertadores, as well live streams of MLS, Chinese Super League and Australian A-League.

Fox Sports Go

Fox Sports is the official TV rights holder of Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League football in the United States. Both competitions can be live streamed on the Fox Sports Go app, available for free on iOS and Android mobile devices. As with the NBC Sports app, users need to sign in with their TV provider’s credentials to watch the live streams, which will also give them access to some of the programming available on Fox Soccer Plus, which provides selected coverage of domestic Scottish competitions, MLS, Copa Libertadores and the men’s and women’s US national teams. Other sports that can be live streamed through Fox Sports Go include MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, UFC, college football and college basketball.

Those willing to purchase the more expensive subscription will also be able to live stream Formula 1 races through the Sky Sports F1 channel. Sky is offers a 30-day free trial of the app, which includes Sky Sports 1 and 2, and Sky Sports News HQ.
