The fans chose David Beckham as the best soccer player of 2012 in MLS.

According to an international fans ranking FootballTop.comDavid Beckham was picked as the best player in MLS(Major League Soccer) .The famous Englishman has overcome such rivals as Thierry Henry, Alessandro Nesta and Landon Donovan who took the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star will turn 38 this May but regardless his age is still capable ofdelivering top class performances on the pitch.

There’s amazing statistics that Beckham has shown this season. He scored 7 goals and provided his teammates with 10 assists in 30 appearances for Los Angeles Galaxy during the 2012 campaign.Beckham led his side to the second championship title following the 2011 triumph. His amazing goals from set pieces against San Jose Earthquake, Portland Timbers and Montreal Impact remind us of those glorious times when David was starring in Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Becks is still a top class player which is confirmed by his desire to maintain good shape while training with Arsenal’s first team during the MLS pre-season. Also David has already expressed a will to move to a stronger championship. Reportedly before the current transfer window he had 16 (!) offers already on his table, most of them from the England’s top division. This means that the player famous for his ability at set pieces, corners and possessing a wonderful crossing technique is still required at the highest level.

Beckham moved to MLS in 2007 starting a wave of transfers from Europe to the US. LA Galaxy paid estimated £22 million for the move of the Englishman to their squad thus launching a pilgrimage of soccer players of the top quality such as Thierry Henry, Alessandro Nesta, Carlo Cudicini, Tim Cahill, Robbie Keane and many others from the European championships to MLS.

However this January Beckham decided to leave the US and move to Paris signing for Paris Saint-Germain a 5-months contract. The move itself is quite intriguing for the fans brilliant for the PSG management and very challenging for David Beckham himself. To see such a star in new surroundings, as a part of a true giant in the French championship (and in Europe) would be very exciting for an ordinary soccer fan. As for PSG by signing David they managed not only to invite a classy and experienced midfielder but also a star whose name on T-shirts sells incredibly well. Moreover CarloAncelotti is familiar with the capabilities of David when they cooperated in AC Milan which would certainly help the midfielder accommodate to the new squad. David chose a powerful and ambitious club who play in the Champions League and are capable of winning many trophies both at home and in Europe. Hence the choice of the Englishman seems to be very logical.

David Beckham believes that his career is yet to be continued and that his time of glory is no longer in the past but in the future. This sort of player is always notable wherever he plays and we can hope that David will keep on performing outstandingly though already not in MLS but in the Champions League which is even more impressing.
