It was frustrating to settle for a draw against Wolves but I have to say my frustration was more at the result than the performance.

You cannot fault the attitude or the commitment or our desire to win the game. We missed a great opportunity but we just have to keep going and take the positives out of the game.

At the moment what we have to learn is not to get too comfortable when we are 1-0 up. We were caught out and we can only blame ourselves for that. We all know the Wolves keeper had the game of his life and they fought like mad. We would usually win that game 19 times out of 20 – Tuesday was the exception.

Having got the early goal through Gervinho, it was important for us to go in at half time 1-0 up. If we had done that I think Wolves would have had to attack more and that would have left space for us to exploit. Instead we lost our way a bit between 30 and 40 minutes and paid the price.

We had claims for a penalty but I am not responsible for the performance of the referee, I have no influence on that. The fact remains that we could have won the game regardless of the decisions – we had enough chances.

Gervinho scored and we had other opportunities: Arshavin was very close, Rosicky was close, Mertersaker was close. It was the kind of day where maybe we were not relaxed enough, maybe we wanted it so much that we we suffered on the technical front.

There are going to be a lot of twists and turns at the top of the table and the big regret is that we could not take advantage of others dropping points ilke Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City. That is slightly worrying because during the season you have to take your opportunities.

Finally, I can confirm that Theo Walcott was too ill to play on Tuesday because he had a stomach problem. He is already better and he should be available for Saturday’s game against QPR.
