UEFA Champions League: FC Bayern Munich 3-2 FC Barcelona (aggregate 3-5)

FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique:

“it’s mission accomplished. Our next objective is to be European champions. We’re one win away from winning each of the three competitions. This is our objective. It’s a nice moment but we still have to seal the deal”.

“we are very happy, we deserve a place in the final. The team did well and getting to half-time with a lead was important. It was a game that was determined by our rival’s need to take risks and attack, but even though they took the lead, we came back at them and created plenty of chances. The win is down to all of the people who make up the team and it’s a moment to enjoy”.

“We know our players’ abilities and what they can do and I am very happy with their performance – this is a moment to congratulate them”.

FC Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola

“We played well and we leave the stadium today with our dignity intact. Obviously we’re down because we wanted to make the final in Berlin, but we’d already lost this semi-final in Barcelona.”

“I think we did very well as a team. The players put up a magnificent fight and scored three goals, but unfortunately conceded two as well. Taking the 180 minutes as a whole Barcelona deserve to go through, but we bow out with our heads held high. We’ve not been able to make the final in Berlin against what’s probably the best team in the world right now. But we made the semi-finals, and for the fourth time in a row too, so everything’s OK.”
