Champions League: Barcelona 3-1 Olympiacos

Barcelona grabbed its third victory as many games in the Champions League. This match will go in the books when Lionel Messi scored his 100th goal in the competition (97 in UCL and 3 in Supercup) in just 122 matches.

A night to remember for an amazing player. His free kick went straight in and the fans in the Camp Nou celebrated their star. Now he joins Cristiano Ronaldo in this private club. They are arguably the best two players of all-time.

Barcelona coach Valverde on the win:

“We were ahead and the opposition sat back. We needed to try and score more goals but also had to be aware of the danger of them scoring on the counter. We started strongly, the match could have become difficult after the sending off but the team responded well and we secured a very good victory.

On Olympiacos: “They are a team who never give up and they demonstrated that again today. We will have a very tough match away to them and I wish them all the best.”
