Ligue 1: Day 10

PSG 4-1 AS Saint-Etienne

It seems that there will be another Ligue 1 title for Paris Saint-Germain as no team seems to have a simple chance against this armada. Cleary this team keeps adding talents and aims at a Champions League title. Chelsea and Barcelona stopped them the past two years. A few players react after a great win vs. a close European rival.

Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
“We enjoyed this evening a lot more than Wednesday night against Real Madrid! We played well on Wednesday night too, but tonight we scored. Today, everyone knew we had to be more aggressive to score. So tonight we scored four… no, we scored five, because Marco Verratti scored Saint-Etienne’s goal! We’ll have to keep a close watch on Marco from now on (laughs). We were very solid in defence. In the second half we played very well and controlled the game, to get this result tonight.”

Lucas (Paris Saint-Germain forward)
“It was a great match, especially in the second half. Like often at home, we controlled the game and got an important win to claim maximum points. I’m very happy to have scored and to have helped the team. It was a rare headed goal for me. You always have to be ready when you’re on the bench. Now, we have to keep working hard. We’ve had a very tough week ad now we’ll recover before our next game.”

Layvin Kurzawa (Paris Saint-Germain defender)
“I’m very happy to have scored, especially since it opened the scoring this evening. We played well against a very good side. We enjoyed the majority of the possession and took our chances. We wanted to score as many goals as possible and we can still improve in front of goal. We have the players to win matches so we have to get as close as possible to perfection. Personally, I’m having a ball in this team.”
