La Liga: Real Madrid 7-3 Getafe

Cristiano Ronaldo scored another hat-trick and finished with 48 goals. Real Madrid also finished with 118 goals in 38 Liga BBVA games. yet finishing second this season and losing to Juventus have sealed Coach Ancelotti’s fate..

His last comments below:

“The players have shown a serious and professional attitude right up until the last minute of the season. They have done really well, although there is the sadness of not winning titles. However, the effort was very professional”.

“We have often analysed what happened this year in La LIGA. We had important injuries in January and February, such as Kroos, Modric and James. During that period we lost points against Villarreal and Athletic”.

“That is football and at a demanding club like Real Madrid, it is normal to be questioned after a season that has not ended well. That is part of my job, last year we won La Décima and this year has been different. I will not forget what we did last year, nor what we have done this year. You have to take everything into consideration because it can be used to improve. We have to evaluate what happened this season and try to improve next season”.

President Florentino Perez address the media:

“I would like to announce that the Board of Directors have made the decision to relieve Carlo Ancelotti of his duties as Real Madrid coach”.

“This has been a difficult decision as you can all imagine, especially for the Board of Directors, but like I always say we are not here, at Real Madrid, to make easy decisions, but to make those that are best for this institution which is recognised globally”.

“During these two years Carlo Ancelotti has earned the affection of the Board of Directors, of me personally and of the supporters. He forms part of our history as the coach with whom we won la Décima, but as we all know, the demands are huge at Real Madrid and we believe the time has come for a change of direction that will allow us to win more titles and reach our peak competitive level ahead of a new era”.

I would like to publically thank Carlo Ancelotti for his two years of service, all his hard work and the affection he has shown. And I would like to tell him that this is still his home. We would also like to announce that we will be revealing the name of the next Real Madrid coach next week”.
