Juventus Undefeated Run of 49 Matches End 1-3 vs Inter Milan

The Bianconeri saw their superb 49-game unbeaten run come to an end after a second-half Inter revival clinched all three points from a typically feisty ‘Derby d’Italia’.

All appeared to be going to plan when Arturo Vidal grabbed the hosts the advantage inside the opening minute, but Inter emerged as a different prospect in the second period and put Juventus to the sword with a Milito double and Palacio’s 90th minute strike.

Marotta: “Tiredness was a factor”

“We weren’t at our best, even though, looking at the first half, we perhaps created more than they did.  We didn’t keep a high tempo as we usually do, but after all the games we’re involved in, including international fixtures, perhaps we’ve paid the price of tiredness.”

The club director concluded by clearing up a compliment made in the pre-match build-up which had been interpreted differently by Nerazzurri boss Stramaccioni.

“It was a compliment. When I spoke about a light-hearted approach I meant that Stramaccioni was calm. Lining up with three strikers at Juventus Stadium shows courage. I also stated beforehand that two excellent teams would face each other tonight. The concept expressed seemed clear as far as I was concerned.”
