The two most winning teams in Serie A history faced off Sunday on Inter’s home field, the San Siro, with both sides having plenty to play for in this classic Italian rivalry.  The determination showed as there no lack of quality or passion in this back-and-forth battle that ended in a goalless draw.

Man of the match Stankovic had this to say, “It was a very tactical game. We were always close to scoring tonight, but the goal didn’t come.”

Neither side can really be disappointed with the result, even if it does see Inter move to second place of the Serie A table.  Stand out offensive players were Eto’o for Inter and the Serbian, Milos Krasic, for Juve.  Both produced an air of danger, using their skill and speed to go past players, wreaking havoc for the opposing defenses’ organization.  The 18 year old Brazilian Coutinho also continued to impress on the Inter attack.

“He’s young and talented, he did a lot of positive things today,” said coach Benitez. “He’s not a defensive player, but he can make a difference in attack.”

As well as the young players have been playing Inter hopes to get some of their injured veterans back when they return from the off-week for a match-up against Cagliari on October 17.
