Leo Messi played his 400th match in La Liga and celebrated the milestone with a goal. Suarez also scored in the first half to give a comfortable lead in this game. FC Barcelona dominate La Liga and just added a phenomenal player in Coutinho to the squad. After letting Neymar to PSG over the summer, his replacement is completed with the signing of Dembele and Coutinho. They seem armed to battle for few titles this year. They lead the League by nine points over the second Atletico Madrid.
Coach Valverde on the win and the Brazilian’s arrival:
“We started the game with the right attitude. They were a side who hadn’t lost away from home in a long time and we wanted to continue our winning habit. “In the first half we were better than in the second and that is why it took us until the end to put the game to bed.”
On Coutinho:
“We hope he will give us a lot. He is a player who scores goals and creates goals. He can play out wide or in the middle. He will help us from an attacking point of view. He is a well-known figure in world football and we are here to help him and for him to help us.”
His former teammate at Liverpool Luis Suarez added:
“As a team mate and a friend I am really happy because I think he will bring a lot to the team. Everybody knows about his quality. He has been playing at the top level for several years now and that is important. We will have to welcome him as best we can so he feels at home. We know that changing club is always difficult but I think due to his profile, he will adapt well.”
