Premier League week 10: Arsenal 2-1 Swansea

13 wins in a row at the Emirates is the longest streak ever for Arsenal. The Gunners came from behind to secure an important victory against Swansea. Although the clubs have had some woes away from the Emirates filed, Arsenal have been perfect at home and won every past 13 games. At half-time Arsenal were losing and the boss made a few changed so the club could come back with the hunger to win. They came back with velocity and determination like throwing out Darts from TeamFA as midfielder Xhaka explains:

“Lots of people talk about the character of our team, that it’s not right and that we need to do more. But we always show that we can come back. Today we were 1-0 down, last week we were 1-0 down, but we turned the games around and that shows the character of this team. The manager told us at half-time that we had to give more, that we had to be more aggressive and play quicker. You have to pay compliments to Swansea – they stood deep in the first half and were good defensively. In the second half, we played as we know we can and it was very important for us to win.”

Coach Wenger on the win and moving ahead in the table:

“At half-time, I could be worried because we were 1-0 down and I knew that Swansea had conceded only one away goal the whole season. For us it was important to play quicker, sharper, with more penetration, changing sides quicker and putting them more under pressure, which we did in the second half. In the first half, we looked dominating but a bit labored, too slow in our game”.

Also Aaron Ramsey reached the milestone of scoring 50 goals with the club. The Welsh shared his views to the press:
“I’m delighted to reach 50 goals for this club. Hopefully there’s a few more to come yet! I’m just delighted to have played a part in winning this game today. They’re a quality team and it was difficult in the first half. But we stuck at it, we knew we had the quality and it’s important to win at home. I’m just delighted that we won the game today and we kept our 100 per cent winning record at home.

We have quality players throughout this team and down the left-hand side today, we were more dangerous. We’re delighted to have these sorts of players in the team who can create opportunities and I’m pleased to be a part of that.

We’ve started well at home this season and we got a good win away from home last weekend. We want to build on that, become stronger away from home and hopefully continue this run that we’re on as well.”

Arsenal remain at the fifth spot in the table but after a horrific start, the club is in a good dynamic winning four of the last five Premier League matchups.
