Wenger Insists Rosicky is Going Nowhere

Arsene Wenger is keen to tie Tomas Rosicky down to a new contract after admitting that he has no intention of letting the Czech Republic international leave Arsenal this summer.

The 33-year-old, who scored a brilliant goal in the 4-1 win against Sunderland which leaves Arsenal as third favourites in the Premier League betting from bet365 to clinch the title this season, has had his eight-year spell with the Gunners blighted by injuries, but Wenger thinks he remains a class act.

The Frenchman said: “Tomas Rosicky will stay. We have an agreement with him and it will come out soon.

“I am absolutely adamant he has to stay at the club. He always makes things happen, not with individual dribbling but with individual acceleration of his passing and of his runs.”

Rosicky, who joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in a £6.8million deal in the summer of 2006, is out of contract in the summer.

He has scored 15 goals in 94 Premier League starts and 51 appearances from the substitute’s bench during his time in north London but missed the entire 2008-09 campaign through injury and only featured in ten top-flight matches last term.

Meanwhile, Stoke City fans have warned Wales international Aaron Ramsey that he will have to expect a hostile reception from the Britannia Stadium faithful when the Arsenal face the Potters in a game which will have a live football commentary on the bet365 website.

Ramsey suffered a broken leg after a challenge from Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross in 2010 and, after scoring when Arsenal beat Mark Hughes’ side five months ago, ran over to the visiting fans and celebrated in front of them.

A Stoke fanzine has responded by featuring an image of Ramsey celebrating his goal against the Potters with the message: ‘Okay Mr Ramsey… All bets are off’.
