Belgium International forward Romelu Lukaku was traded to Manchester United from Everton Football Club for a sum of 95 millions US dollars. After Paul Pogba last year, Manchester United makes another big summer move and clearly claim its desire to return to the forefront of the Premier League and Europe.

This transfer also means Wayne Rooney rejoins the club where he was revealed 13 years ago and ends the chapter of the most prolific striker of Man Utd‘s history. On the other end, Lukaku arrival terminates Zlatan Ibrahimovic stance with Manchester after only one year. But, is it the right price for Lukaku or is he overvalued?

One sure thing is that only Kane has scored more goals than Lukaku (25) last season in the Premier League and at 24 years old, Manchester United signed a talent for many years to come. With Diego Costa, Harry Kane, Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero, Lukaku forms the group of the Premier League’s top five strikers.

First we hear from Wayne Rooney’s new coach Ronald Koeman at Everton:

“Wayne has shown me that ambition that we need and that winning mentality – he knows how to win titles and I’m really happy he’s decided to come home. He loves Everton and he was desperate to come back. He is still only 31 and I don’t have any doubts about his qualities. It’s fantastic he’s here.

Wayne, of course, is still competitive – he will be a competitor always – and he wants to play at the highest level that is possible for him. We have spoken several times about Everton and what we are striving to achieve. That’s really interesting for Wayne and a lot of football players and, of course, in the situation of Wayne he was here at the beginning when he was young player for Everton. It’s his home and he likes that competition, he likes that pressure. I’m really happy that he finally decided to come back.”

Then if you look on the United’s website: http://www.manutd.com/en/Farewell-Rooney.aspx It is all about Wayne Rooney and nothing yet on Lukaku.

MUFC coach Mourinho added on Rooney: “It is no secret that I have long been an admirer of Wayne; he has been a model professional throughout his time at the club and will remain in the history books for many years to come. It is never easy to see a great player playing less football than he would like and I could not stand in his way when he asked to go back to Everton. His experience, focus and determination will be missed and I wish him well for the future.”

One legend is leaving the Red Devils having played 559 matches and scored 253 goals for the club while one established and still young talent is coming to lead the offense under Mourinho. You can feel already Lukaku has the biggest task of his career in front of him that is to replace a legend! The sixth highest transfer in the history will be under a close watch.
