Trinidad and Tobago forward Jason Scotland is attracting interest from Brighton FC.
The 32-year-old who played 45 matches for Ipswich Town last season, scoring 10 goals, having arrived from Wigan last August.
But Scotland was a signing of former boss Roy Keane, who was sacked in January and subsequently succeeded by Paul Jewell.
Jewell was prepared to allow Scotland to return to former club Swansea in the winter, but a deal could not be agreed.
Ipswich are still willing to listen to enquiries and Championship new-boys Brighton are preparing to make a move while Sheffield are also eying the ex-Defence Force forward.
Meantime, English-born goalkeeper Tony Warner will not be rejoining Tranmere Rovers in 2011-12.
Tranmere manager Les Parry told www.tranmererovers.co.uk: “We haven’t been able to come to an agreement with Tony.
“We were very fortunate to be able to get a player of his ability for the time we did and he played his role in helping us finish where we did.We always knew he could attract deals from bigger and higher clubs than us so it was always a little bit pie in the sky that he might be staying with us, but we made him an offer in the hope that he would do.
“But the number of other offers he has got has made it impossible for us to compete. I wish him the best of luck wherever he goes.We’re currently talking to three or four goalkeepers and hope to be able to make a decision in the near future.”
